What license does Complete Demolition have?

We have an unrestricted Demolition License (DE1). This is different to a restricted Demolition License (DE2), which only allows workers to demolish buildings under 15 metres. In contrast, a DE1 license lets us work with buildings of all sizes and use explosives to get the job done.

This also allows us to conduct jobs involving chemical installations or tensioned structural components. The license comes with a significant level of training – this means all of our employees know what they are doing and how to do it safely and effectively.

Will the work disturb my neighbours?

For residential properties, a key concern is often whether the work will disrupt or annoy their neighbours. Indeed, demolition work will naturally incur some machinery noise, and the density of the surrounding area could cause some disruption. However, we ensure that everyone nearby knows about the demolition work in advance – it should not come as a surprise to them.

How long does demolition take?

As you can imagine, this is a complex question that depends upon the size and scale of the project at hand – even on a purely logistical level, a larger building will take more time to demolish. Even with the appropriate licenses, it takes time to get permission from councils to begin the work.

Once we have permission, the process should take a few days; but again, this can vary based on a structure’s size. There are also relatively unpredictable factors, such as weather conditions, that can get in the way, but we work around the forecasts to ensure there is not too much disruption.

What will you recycle from the job?

Demolishing a property does not have to mean destroying the planet in the process – we’ll recycle whatever materials we can salvage from the job. This usually takes the form of wood or bricks; other companies can use these to build new structures over time. Not only do we promptly clean all of our sites, but we also produce recyclable building materials for others to employ in their services.
